24th International Symposium on Environmental Biogeochemistry

The organizing and international committee of the International Society for Environmental Biogeochemistry (ISEB) would like to invite you to the 24th Symposium to be held in Potsam, Germany, September 22-27, 2019, at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam German Research Centre for Geosciences – GFZ.
The Symposium will bring together scientists from all over the world to discuss recent developments and discoveries from all aspects of Environmental Biogeochemistry, including but not limited to microbiology, chemistry, soil science, geoscience, limnology, ecology, marine and atmospheric sciences both from fundamental and applied perspectives. The meeting will be in a single session format, so all participants have the chance to attend all oral presentations. Daily poster sessions provide sufficient time for discussions among the participants.
The city of Potsdam is known all over the world for its long history. The past 300 years have seen the transformation of Potsdam from a garrison town to one of Europe’s most imposing royal capitals. Potsdam’s architectural masterpieces, the 17 palaces that are surrounded by an abundance of landscape gardens lining the banks of the beautiful Havel waterscape have considerably determined Potsdam’s World Cultural Heritage status. Potsdam is located about 30 km southwest of Berlin, the German capital.
The Telegrafenberg campus of GFZ has a long history in Earth Sciences and dates back to 1870. Since then this place has been at the forefront in many different disciplines, ranging from Geodesy, over Astronomy and Geophysics to Global Change and Energy related topics.
